Mechanical Designer
Full-time, starting Jan 2026 (flexible)
Location:Â Regina or Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (remote/hybrid options available)
Wage:Â $25-$50 per hr, commensurate with experience and qualifications
Other Benefits: Employee HSA, short and long-term disability, flexible hours, remote work options
Term:Â Permanent, full-time (32hrs/week) with a 6-month probation period

Who We Are
We’re a small, collaborative team focused on high-performance buildings, practical sustainability, and delivering clear, quality work to our clients. Our work includes building energy modeling, mechanical design, and building science training. We’re looking for a Mechanical Designer who is excited about building science and sustainability, enjoys solving real-world problems, and wants to grow with our team.
We are looking for either an engineer or engineering technologist, and are open to a range of experience levels. Whether you’re early in your career or have already built up several years of design or consulting experience, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do
Responsibilities may include:
Energy + Building Performance
Performing energy modelling to evaluate building performance
Determining HVAC heating and cooling loads
Providing recommendations for envelope and mechanical energy conservation measures using environmentally-sustainable and Passive House–aligned principles
Preparing reports for net-zero analysis, incentive programs, and code compliance (NECB, NBC 9.36)
Mechanical + Plumbing Design
Designing of mechanical and plumbing systems for new builds and retrofit projects (residential, multi-unit residential, commercial, and community buildings)
Preparing schematic and detailed design drawings
Creating energy code documentation
General + Field Work
Performing construction site inspections
Blower door testing
Developing building-science training materials and presentations
Delivering building science training
What We’re Looking For
Required
Either:
Engineering degree, and eligible to register with, or already registered with, APEGS
Or: Applied Science Technologist/Certified Engineering Technologist designation
Strong analytical and communication skills
An interest in sustainability, building performance, and continuous learning
Assets
EIT or P.Eng. designation
Intermediate experience in energy modelling, mechanical design, or engineering consulting
SketchUp (for 3D energy modeling, drafting)
Energy modeling with DesignPH, PHPP, Hot2000, or OpenStudio
Energy-modelling workflows (drawing geometry, shading analysis, assemblies, etc.)
Revit or similar CAD programs
Building-science fundamentals
Project management or construction experience
Previous teaching, presenting, or training experience
