About

Blueprint

Airtight Engineering Inc. is a Saskatchewan-based consulting firm which integrates energy modeling and Passive House principles with mechanical system design. This means optimizing the efficiency of the building shell before designing an efficient mechanical system. We guide this optimization using energy models to make data-driven design choices.

We are passionate about designing high-performance building envelopes and mechanical systems that are sustainable, resilient, comfortable, and healthy. In addition to design work, we love to facilitate building science and energy efficiency training.

We consult on residential, multi-unit residential, commercial, and industrial projects for both new construction and energy retrofits. Airtight Engineering consults across Canada and into the United States, and is licensed to provide Engineering services in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba.

Mission Statement:

To facilitate the transition to sustainable high-quality buildings by combining passive house principles with mechanical system design.

Airtight Engineering engages its mission through the following pathways:

I. High-performance building design services

II. Building energy efficiency education and training

III. High-performance building advocacy and industry engagement

IV. Learning and continuous improvement

V. Removing barriers and challenges to creating Passive House buildings
